How am I doing? ~ June 29th, 2021
Psalm 30:4-5
4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
I HAVE A JESUS LIKE THAT Who can speak the word, and the thing is done; I have a Jesus indwelling me and vitalizing me with a faith that believes it is true; I have a Jesus within me who has never let me go faint-hearted or weary. Let us press on in faith along the line of God's will, and the outpouring which we have longed to see will come. Cheer up, hold on, never let go the vision; be sure it is for you just as much as for anybody else, and God will surely make it come to pass. Never look down, because then you will only see the ground and miss the vision. All blessings come from above; therefore keep your eyes upon Jesus. Never weary. If you do not fall out by the way, He will strengthen you in the way. Hallelujah! ~ Smith Wigglesworth
Yes, my friends I am doing fine because like Mr. Wigglesworth stated, I have a Jesus like that. Life is precious, very true but what makes it complete is having a relationship with Him!
Stop for a moment and think...
Praise Him in the storm my friends!
Someday, Somehow, Somewhere...
God's love and blessings to you all!
What's in your bucket? ~ June 23rd, 2021
Well, as I have been working away, creating more song video's for this website, when I came to this one #96 I thought of my "bucket list"! As we get older (and older) it is mentioned of what people would like to do that they haven't before the end of their life. Some may say, travel to a special place, or maybe, buy a boat and sail, maybe even take a trip to the moon? Each one's desires are special to only themselves.
For me, in my bucket, I would like to sing with a large orchestra. As I mentioned at the start song video #96 is titled "When I Fall In Love". As I listen to the music it takes me back to a time when "music was music". I know it sure has changed over the years but listen to this. It is the music that takes you to a special place. Only each of us knows where that is for sure.
What I find interesting is for the past 24 years and counting singing has been the main focus of the God's Love Outreach that I was called to. It is used as an instrument to deliver a message. The pictures and poems was just an added plus for the residents. I never claimed to be a singer but I agree with the messenger part. I once was inspired with a poem explaining why I sing.
I Sing
For I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free. I sing because my Savior, on Calvary did die for me.
I sing as a way to praise Him. I sing with prayers lifted above. I sing to my Heavenly Father, a song of gratitude and love.
I sing as a messenger for Him, a song that others may hear. I sing to the many that are lost and live in constant fear.
The song I sing is always about Him, it flows from His Spirit within. If you listen with your heart, my friends, it is not me singing, but Him!
E. P. Shagott 8/27/2010
Now I looked up some quotes about singing:
A song can be more than words and music ... when sung with soul a song carries you to another world, to a place where no matter how much pain you feel, you are never alone.
Clay Aiken
Music expresses that which cannot be put into words.
Victor Hugo
Singing, it's like it's like loving somebody, it's a supreme emotional and physical experience.
Janis Joplin
Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.
Henry Van Dyke
Singing is a way of escaping. It's another world. I'm no longer on earth.
Edith Piaf
You have a unique message to deliver, a unique song to sing, a unique act of love to bestow. This message, this song, and this act of love have been entrusted exclusively to the one and only you.
John Powell
God sent his Singers upon earth
With songs of sadness and of mirth,
That they might touch the hearts of men,
And bring them back to heaven again.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Well, for sure I am very grateful for the calling to reach out and touch people with many heartfelt songs. I would like to close this blog with a song I shared each November in the program "Giving Thanks". I am humbled that God chose me to touch the hearts of so many of His lost and wounded.

A poetic salute to Father's ~ June 20th, 2021
Father’s Day
Matthew 23:9
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is
your Father, which is in heaven.
Today being Father’s day I was asked
for a poem, about Father’s, that for you I could share.
As I read the many poems God blessed me with
not many did the Lord point out to me there.
So I raised my head above and said,
“Father what is it you want me to read?”
He said, “What name did you call out?”
I said, “Father, because You mean so much to me”!
Then He lovingly touched my heart
and asked, “Tell Me why, is that so?”
I replied, “Whenever I needed You,
You were always there, that’s all I need to know.
Though I displeased You many times
with what I said and may have done,
You never turned Your back to me
but rather called me Your favorite one.
“I know many times I broke Your heart
and from Your teachings I did stray.
But still You were patient and faithful,
still loving me, day after day after day.
So Father, please forgive me,
may my love for You always be strong.
With You always being in my heart
I will always know exactly where I belong.
But Father what do I share in a poem?
I want You to be proud of Your kid!
Then my Father gently kissed my soul and said,
“My son, you just did!!!”
Excerpt From: E. P. Shagott. “From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours, Trilogy”
Dad’s
What is a Dad, I stopped to ask
on this Father’s Day 2018.
For sure it is more than a title given,
to some men, past, present, future, and to me.
Oh, there are probably many words written
that explain what being a father should be.
But in truth it is about each person individually
trying to do the best they could, you see.
Dads for sure are not perfect,
for in this life, mistakes there will always be.
But what is important is to learn from them,
for they are part of life, you see.
For when the final book of Dad’s lives is written,
and we are before our Heavenly Father above,
He will smile and say, “You did the best you could Dad,
you are a Dad because of your love”!
Excerpt From: E. P. Shagott. “From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours, Trilogy”
What Is A Dad
As Father’s Day once again appears
thoughts of Dads comes to mind.
I guess it is time again when saying “Dad”
if we look closely what do we find?
Is there more to the title given so many
that may come sometimes by surprise.
Could there be something special of this man
that we couldn’t actually see with our own eyes?
I am thinking of a man hurting inside
for he really wanted and expected to do more.
See deep down that’s all he ever wanted
was to be the best for his family for sure.
For all Dad’s are not the same
and this sometimes is not easy to see.
While for some life seems so easy,
for others it’s a fight just for a Dad to be.
So don’t be too quick to judge,
thank God and for your Dad be glad.
See only the ones that are
can answer “What is a Dad”!
Excerpt From: E. P. Shagott. “From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours, Trilogy”
A Dad Entered Heaven
A Dad entered Heaven, Jesus met him at the gate. Like all other Dad’s, he was right on time, for no one enters Heaven late.
Jesus said, “Dad, what is it that you did on earth with your time?” The Dad looked up at Jesus and said, “The best I could of what was mine.
I tried to love my wife, with all the love I had. I did the best for my kids, though sometimes they made me mad.
I worked hard every day, sometimes longer than I should. I wanted to provide for my family, the very best way that I could.
But now what I understand, what was most important to me, is that they love You like I do, so together, we once again can be.”
E. P. Shagott 6/17/2010
A Frenchman Entered Heaven
A Frenchman entered Heaven today, Jesus met him at the gate. He said, “Jean, you’re right on time, I knew you wouldn’t be late.
Your time on earth was spent very well, your family loved you so. I know how hurt they are to see you finally go.
I know their hurt will subside, though it will never leave. Your life on earth is now complete, now you’re here with Me.
So come on in, Jean Petrement, your family will be right behind. Eternity waits for everyone, it’s only separated by time.”

"Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow" ~ June 19th, 2021
These were the last words spoken by Steve Job's of Apple before his death. It was verified by his sister. He died at the age of 56 of pancreatic cancer. Now this came to mind as I was working on today's blog and the video song "I Can Only Imagine" at the end of this blog. In December of 2005 I was inspired with a poem titled "As I Walked Into Heaven". This is the video that I recently was blessed with for that poem.
Just the thought to be in the presence of the Trinity!
I am not sure what Steve Job's meant by his last words but I believe mine would be "OH WOW" also! Surrounded by Your glory what will my heart feel? Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still?
'When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world...
Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'' (Matthew 25:31-34, 41).
"See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind." (Isaiah 65:17)
My friends, I truly believe we each have an appointment. One that has already been made before we were born.
The Bible speaks a lot about life and death and we are given two choices by God as it says, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live” (Deut 30:19), so we must be “loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them” (Deut 30:20). We can either repent and trust in Christ or face God’s judgment after we die or at Christ’s return. Either way, those who reject Christ die with the wrath of God on them (John 3:36). The author of Hebrews wrote, “it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Heb 9:27), so we know that a judgment comes after a person dies, but if we have trusted in Christ, our sins were judged at the cross and our sins have been taken away because it was “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2nd Cor 5:21). Every one of us has an appointment with death and none of us know when that day will come, so today is the day of salvation if you have not yet placed your faith in Christ (2nd Cor 6:2).
As I mentioned before I do not know what Steve Job's meant by his words but I do believe for the non-believers it would be followed by "Oh no, oh no, oh no". We each get to choose!
God's love and grace to you all!
Where do you stand? ~ June 18th, 2021
A few years back I came across several writings from Chuck Bassett. I love his heart for God. I saved many, with his permission, inspirational writings. You can read more of them on this website. As I was reading this once again the timing came after I finished completing and posting the video song titled "The Stand" (#90). Please take some time and read Mr. Bassett's posting, then listen to the song.
TO GET AND NOT TO GET
📖 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:7
Everyone should have questions. Any humans, redeemed or not, who claim to have all the answers should be avoided because they suffer from advanced arrogance. As Christians, we may understand more than we ever dreamed we would, but when we stand before our God, after kneeling and confessing Him Lord, we will be hit with the overwhelming truth that we understood just enough to make us efficient servants and capable witnesses but that we never graduated kindergarten in the school of eternal knowledge.
When it comes to the unbeliever, God gives just enough evidence of His existence and of their necessary redemption. He calls His creation to the stand as witness to His existence as Creator (Romans 1:20-21). Next, He calls to the stand His born-again ones who proclaim the Gospel, the only way that created man can become recreated man fit to live in His Heaven with Him (2 Corinthians 5:17; Mark 16:15).
In our limited understanding, we may wonder why God is not more aggressive in all of this. And why doesn’t He answer more prayers dramatically as a witness to His power and care? And why doesn’t He make a personal, supernatural appearance to every human? However, while valid questions from mere humans, these inquiries are spinning wheels in deep sand. It all comes back to God-given faith (Ephesians 2:8-9): “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own Understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). That is neither a cop-out nor an validation of ignorance; it is the only remedy after the cup of our own understanding overflows with what God is doing (Isaiah 55:9). Yes, we are commanded to “get understanding” (Proverbs 4:1, 5, 7), not to “get omniscience.” ~ Chuck Bassett
My friends, you can trust God's plan for your life. His word is His truth. Here are some scriptures to grab hold of and to stand firm upon the Rock.
On the solid Rock I stand, all other is sinking sand! You can take that to the bank, as they say! Where do you stand?

Are those storm clouds? ~ June 17th, 2021
I will always remember when stationed in Texas, for basic training, we were out standing in formation. It was for the most part, a sunny, with a few, clouds day. Off in the distance was a dark could, well, a few of them. Our drill instructor told us to go back in our barracks and get our "foul weather" gear and put it on. I would imagine the instructor was from Texas or lived there long enough to know what was coming. Yep, those were storm clouds.
Well, though out life we seem our share of storm clouds. I share with residents a song titled "Praise You In The Storm"! Now for a lot of people that is a very hard time to pray. I found that in many of those situations that is when God is the closet. See, in His Word He says He will not leave or forsake us. My friends, He doesn't. He is a God of His Word. We may not see but He is always there. Oh yes, praise Him. If it's a sunny day, or in a storm, praise Him!
WHAT DO YOU NEED GOD TO DO FOR YOU TODAY? 2 Corinthians 1:20 - For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Today, we can stand upon the Word of God. When all around is sinking sand, upon the solid rock I stand. He will never leave or forsake His children, but with every trial and temptation He will make a way of escape. The Word of God will not return unto Him void but will accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He hath sent it. This is true according to Isaiah 55: 10,11. Folks, the Word is dependable. Your friends might fail you, your crops might fail you, your boss might fail you. Your government might fail you, but God's Word is true and you can take it to the Bank. What do you NEED from HIM today? The answer might be slow in coming as it was with Daniel. It took 21 days for the Angel to get the message to him, but it happened. DO not despair! God is faithful. Have Faith In Him Who Cannot Fail!!! If you prayed in faith and believed then the Answer is already on the way. ~ Betty Lester Robinson
Well, I think two good poems to close with are titled "Praise to God", and "The Blessing"!
Praise To God
I praise God in the morning, when my eyes first open to light. I praise Him in the evening, when darkness turns into night.
I praise Him in the daytime, as I go about my day, for praising Him is what I do, for I now know of no other way.
I praise Him in my sufferings, as pain in me begins. I praise my Lord and Savior, for there is no life without Him.
Praise to You, Heavenly Father, and praise to the Holy Spirit too. Praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus, because of His love, brought me to all of You!

The Blessing
It is only a blessing that when we receive, we give thanks above because we believe.
The blessing only comes, because of His grace, not of what we’ve done, or said in it’s place.
His blessings will flow, to bring glory to Him, not because we’re so deserving, my friends.
Blessings are gifts from the Father above, only given out, because of His love.
So if there’s a blessing that might come our way, let’s all remember to give thanks, that God thought of us today!

Looking unto Jesus! ~ June 14th, 2021
Looking Unto Jesus
Looking unto Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith;
In the Bible, Hebrews 12 verse 2,
that is what it does state.
Well, the question I want to ask my friends,
is whom do you look up to?
For many in this world don’t have to answer,
for their life style shows what’s true.
The Word of God states exactly
what with Jesus you will find.
when you accept Him in your heart,
He is with you all the time.
See, what Jesus has is ours,
love, joy, peace, gentleness, just to name a few.
When we are looking unto Jesus,
there is nothing more we have to do.
The Holy Spirit will be our Guide,
because of Jesus, right with the Father we will be,
no longer to fall prey to the evil one,
for we are now part of the Trinity!

Sometimes a picture remains with you more than what someone says. Here are two that will stay with me for sure.
I am always amazed as I read other poets writings. I have mentioned to other people that I am a "roses are red, violets are blue" type of rhyming poet. It is just how I am inspired and blessed with so many. I found this one on Facebook and it describes me pretty well. A servant for sure!
I want to close with my latest song video #89, you can see the other 88 on this website. This one is titled "In Christ Alone". My friends, it has been a challenging past two years for all of us. Even as I write this a family member is going through an extensive surgery. I am truly at peace and understand there is only One reason for my peace and that is, Jesus! I pray that if you don't know Him that the Holy Spirit will draw Him close to you. There is a movie titled, "No Country For Old Men". For sure it is not a Christian movie but there is a scene where the Sheriff (played by Tommy Lee Jones) goes to see his father. As he is talking with his father he says, "Thought when I got older, God would come into my life. He hasn't."
Well, for me my friends, He has. But here is the key, I had to ask Him!
God's love and grace to you all!
L*O*V*E ~ June 12th, 2021
They say it is what makes the world go round! I shared this song with residents many times to let them know that God truly loves them. I believe many individuals search for love throughout their lifetimes. It could be the feeling of being wanted, maybe being accepted for who they are or just a completeness. In this song there is also a story titled "The Seven Wonders of the World". I do agree with what a young girl stated for sure. Do you?
Now here is a good picture that I found on Facebook. How true this is. I believe it is what we are created for. To understand love and to share it. It is a choice. The Creator gave His creation the ability to do so.
Now here is another picture that I believe describes love in a special, deep way!
This poem I believe explains "love" in a poetic form.
Here Is My Heart
Here is my heart, it is open for you. If you look inside, you’ll see Jesus there too.
It is not a perfect heart, but Jesus loves it just the same. It was broken and hurt before, then I called out His name.
He has taken all my hurting, my fears and my pains. He replaced them all with His love, oh praise His Holy Name!
So if you want to enter into this heart of mine, just remember its accessed through love, you’ll be with me and Jesus all the time.
E. P. Shagott 9/1/2010
Now here is what some 4 to 8 year old children answered when asked about love! I shared these in a program.
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4
_____
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4
_____
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)
_____
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate."
Nikka - age 6
_____
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6
_____
"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine - age 5
_____
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4
_____
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8
Now we can understand why Jesus said in Matthew 18:3,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children,
ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Even if! ~ June 8th, 2021
"If God zapped us with constant blessing and while we did not seek Him, do good works springing from our faith, and resist the world’s evil influences, then we would become unbearable snobs, spoiled children, and bad witnesses. No, He has incorporated into this thing called the Christian life a need for seeking Him, acting on our faith regardless of circumstances, and being willing thank Him, praise Him, and serve Him, even when we are in dire straits." Chuck Bassett
"Thank Him, praise Him, and serve Him, even when we are in dire straits!"
That for sure is worth repeating. There is a song titled God On The Mountain;
Life is easy, when you're upon the mountain. And you've got piece of mind, like you've never known. But things change, and you're down in the valley. Don't lose faith child, you're never alone
We talk if faith when, we're upon the mountain. But the talk comes easy, when life's at its best. But its down in the valley, of trials, and temptation. That's when your faith is, really put to the test
For the God on the mountain, is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He'll make them right. And the God of the good times, is still God in the bad times. The God of the day, is still God in the night.
I believe all the above lays a good foundation for the song Even If by Mercy Me. I added this song video to this website as song video #81. These lyrics say it best;
I know You're able and I know You can
save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
my hope is You alone!
The Christian Hurts
The Christian hurts like everyone else,
we feel the suffering and the pain.
But what separates us from all the rest
is the power of Jesus name.
When storm clouds come
and the sun disappears,
we can stand firm,
for with Jesus we have no fear.
Though the pain is real
and the suffering is there,
our Lord and Savior gives us
no more than we can bear.
So stay firm on His Word,
and to His name always be true.
For because of His love,
He is always there for you!
Excerpt From: E.P. Shagott. “From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours.”
I think a good way to close today's blog is with my #82 song video titled, "Your Cries Have Awoken The Master". It was a hard song to sing but I believe the poem at the end ties it all together.
God's love and grace to you all!
Have a heart? ~ June 7th, 2021
Now there's a question for today's times. I was working on the 79th song video for the website titled "Mr. Tin Man, from a song by Miranda Lambert, she sang Tin Man and I just added the Mr. to it. I guess that is my upbringing coming through. Well, when I presented this song at the nursing homes I put pictures from the wizard of Oz. If you remember the tin man wanted a heart. The song lyrics speaks about a broken heart. I would believe in this life we will have one or many broken hearts. Some of the lyrics goes, "you can have mine if you want it, it's in pieces now!"
I truly believe most of the problems in today's times is due to little or no heart in many people. Instead of be a grateful nation we turn on each other at the first chance we get. So sad. David Wilkerson once wrote; Multitudes of Christians live only for the things of this life. Their lives are wrapped up in their job, their house, paying the bills. All their prayers are focused only on their needs - they are living on bread alone. God is raising up a people who are focused on his will for this midnight hour! They want to be ready and prepared in heart because God is poised to release his great, final outpouring!
Sheri Sharlow said, "The heart is what you are, in the secrecy of your thought and feeling, when nobody knows but God. I am urging you all to become "pure in heart" like Jesus said to do." "The aim of the pure heart is to align itself with the truth of God and magnify the worth of God. If you want to be pure in heart, pursue God with all that you have night and day, fall on your knees seek the Creator, cry out your plea, Oh Lord create in me a clean heart!"
Here is what the Word of God says:
Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Psalms 51:10 – “Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
1 Timothy 1:5 – ” The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart, and a good conscience and a sincere faith."
Psalms 51:10 – “Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
I do pray that each one will examine their own heart. Seek the heart of Jesus. Let's all work at getting our eyes off ourselves and look out to others. Let's be "tin man/women" with loving hearts so we don't need armor for we have Christ's armor to shield and protect us!
God's love and grace to you all!
Teach us to pray! ~ June 5th, 2021
And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
As I look back on my life some 70 plus years ago there were problems of course "but" families prayed together. Church was a time to gather together and sing God's praises, pray together, to be fed from God's Word as families prepared for the new week ahead. So what has changed? We did my friends. Our hearts changed. Remember God is always there and waiting to speak with you.
Have you noticed the farther away you pull from God the less you talk with Him? Of course. Just like in a relationship, and that is what it is with God also, when you pull away it is a sign of not being interested. My friends, God is "ALWAYS" interested in us. Ok, now grab onto this, so is satan!!! I pray you never see me capitalize that name. The thing to keep in mind is God is interested in us because of love. satan is interested because of hate. When you are not praying/talking with God the enemy is aware.

Surrender To Him
Oh give to the Lord what He seeks,
surrender to Him what is His.
He cannot work through our lives,
until we willingly and truly do this.
We must admit to ourselves,
that we are weak and He is the Way.
We must surrender to Him all we are,
so that He can truly live in us today.
We can’t hold back a single thing,
we must see the Truth in His Word.
We must surrender to Him our total being,
so through us His Gospel can be shared.
See, He was the first to surrender all for us,
so that the Life with Him will always be.
Surrender to Him our earthly lives,
as on the Cross He did for you and me.

Well, today's blog is interesting for sure. I chose that title for the blog because of a song video I just finished for the website titled, "What If I Gave All". I believe not a true topic for today's times for we now live in a take society rather than give. In this song the lyrics speak of two little boys, Jesus, and me. See, the first little boy wanted to give his birthday money to help someone. The second had only fish and bread to give. Of course we know that Jesus for sure, gave His all for all of us. As for me I think about the 24 plus years that for the God's Love Outreach I also for Jesus, gave my all and even still today.
I must admit that for 24 plus years now I have found an inner peace. for sure at times life as a way of taking away whatever peace we manage to grab onto. But it is life! I found this list of symptoms that show up in a person who does realize without God we are just competing with the world. Hmm, do you show any signs of these? I do!!!
I think the best way I can think of explaining my life now is with a song I wrote several years ago. It is titled, "As He Looks Into My Heart". It describes a new me. It explains why I give/gave my all. My friends, I can see this world changing daily. For sure troubling times and I believe more and worse to come for it states that in God's Word. But I also know God's love conquers all!
God's love and grace to you all!
What do you believe? ~ June 1st, 2021
When I think about life I think the one word that would stand out from most of all the others is "believe". If you believe in what is "right", then you will do what is right. Your life will show what you believe in. Another thing is people can change. Decent people can change for the worse due to being hurt or losing something or someone they cherished during their life, because what they believed in has changed. I have presented a song by Brooks and Dunn titled "Believe", in many God's Love programs. Again, as I have mentioned in previous of my blogs, lyrics are an important part of the song. In this song there are two places that for me which stand out. One is "you can't tell me it all ends in a slow ride in a hearse", and "I raise my hands, bow my head, believe more and more in the words written in red". Yes, my friends, I do.
The word believe is so important and powerful that it is mentioned 280 times in the King James Version of the Bible. In the Book of Matthew in chapter 8 & 9, Jesus told the centurion and the blind men that because they believed the servant was healed and the blind men's sight restored.
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Also in Matthew chapter 17 Jesus said to His disciples regarding their unbelief;
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
In my first book of poems, "From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours", God inspired me with this poem titled "The Many Parts of Faith". This is so true!
Well, my friends, what do you believe? How strong is your faith? Here is a poem video (one of many I have been blessed to create) with a poem from my 2nd book of published poems. Be blessed!
God's love and grace to you all!
Remember me! ~ May 31st, 2021
The one thing about getting older is we have more to look back on than what we do ahead of us, well, for this life that is. The end of May for me brings two items to mind quickly. One, my mother passed on May 30th, 1991. Second of course is Memorial day. this year will be my 78th. To be honest I do not think back on the BBQ's or picnics but the many, many men and women who put their lives on the line when called upon because they loved their country. True American soldiers!
I have shared this song "American Soldier" by Toby Keith during Memorial Day programs at the nursing homes.
I must admit I do spend time on Facebook and use it as an outreach for God's Love. I found this the other day and it touched my heart. I pray it will touch yours.
The name Martin Treptow might not jump off the pages of our textbooks, but his story is our story. During his first inaugural address, President Ronald Reagan told the tale of this anonymous soldier. In doing so, Reagan reminded us of the true makeup of America.
In 1917, Private Martin A. Treptow left his job at a barbershop in his small hometown of Cherokee, Iowa to enlist in the Army National Guard. On the eve of the First World War, Treptow was called into active duty. He soon found himself fighting in France on the Western Front with the 168th Infantry of the 42nd division.
Treptow was killed on the Western Front while trying to deliver a message between battalions under heavy artillery fire. On his body was found a diary and under the fly leaf was a page titled, My Pledge. In it, Treptow had written, "America must win this war. Therefore I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone."
What compels a man to feel this way? To struggle so much against even his own personal interests at times? These are questions that only words like goodness, selflessness, duty, and country can answer. These are words that live in the hearts and minds of man and when awoken, create an unbreakable will. Private Treptow was no stranger to these words.
He is the representation of what makes America and everything we have sacrificed for so very special.
Our history can be defined by men like Martin Treptow. He put pen to paper in writing his pledge, but the words that he believed in have also been honored by countless others. Like all of our fallen warriors, a part of Treptow lives on forever in the form of our flag. The flag is the embodiment men like him. Never ever forget that this is why we stand.
If Only I Would Of Known
If I would of known
would I of done it again?
Would I still of stayed the course
from beginning to end?
Would the price I paid
be worth the reward?
If I would of known
would I of said these words?
“I do solemnly swear
that I will support and defend”,
my friends, with these words
a soldier’s everyday life truly ends.
See, every man and woman
who takes the soldiers creed
state they willingly do this,
for you and for me.
Now many problems face them
when they finally return home.
How can the country they sacrificed for
turn their backs to them and leave them alone?
I truly believe from our soldier’s lips,
as they come back confused and alone
the words that each might say to us,
“if only I would of known”!
Excerpt From: E. P. Shagott. “From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours, Trilogy”
The poem above I was inspired by thinking about the many, many men and women who return with various physical and mental problems due to what they have been exposed to as a military service person. Many without needed help and all because they said yes to the calling on their heart to serve and defend the United States of America, the country they truly love.
This is one of the few songs I have written. The music is just as I hear it in my head. The title of the song is "I Was There." It is just over one minute in length but I believe carries an awesome message.
I think a good way to close this Heart blog is with this picture. Better than "a thousand words".
God's love and grace to you all!
Walk with me! ~ May 28th, 2021
Looking back at many years of music and the many wonderful songs I have been blessed to sing, and share in the God's Love Outreach, for sure these two I believe touch peoples hearts and also mine with the lyrics and music. The two gentlemen that sang them are both different in their singing styles but for sure get the message across. This first one is titled "Walk Through This World With Me" by George Jones.
Hmm, when I do hear or sing that song I picture the hand of Jesus reaching out to each of us. Some of the lyrics say, "I waited for you, a long, long time!" My friends for some of you He is still waiting.
This other song that I believe teams up with the last one is by Louis Armstrong titled, "Wonderful World" and indeed it is. Being into my senior years one thing in this life I wish I would of done more of is travel. I have seen a few interesting places, thanks to the military, but there is so much beautiful world to be seen.
My friends, I think a good way to close this blog is with a poem from God's 2nd book of published poems titled, "Family of One". I truly believe the only way this world will ever succeed is to get back to the family of God that He created it to be.
God's love and grace to all!
It is the little things! ~ May 26th, 2021
In 1959 there was a song sung by Joni James titled "Little Things Mean a Lot". I did sing this in a God's Love program for the nursing homes. What is important is the meaning that we let slip by as each day rolls on. Telling our family and friends that we truly love and treasure them. Through the good times and the bad. I think one little things that is missing is actually listening to what a person is trying to share. I believe God created us and has us here at this exact moment to reach out and touch someone with His love. So badly needed for sure. This video that I was blessed to create shows pictures of His furry creatures and how their little act (huge) of love and loyalty touches mankind. I pray you agree.
Through my 24 plus years in outreach ministry I have met so many wonderful people. Some I would share God's love with and also various caretakers. I was privileged when asked if I would share some music at a benefit for a woman who just lost her daughter to battle she was fighting for a long time. What was amazing was that her daughter loved caring for animals (all types) that just needed a chance in life as she did. For sure as with all of us no one wants or enjoys being sick and just want a "chance" to get better and be loved. Well, when the mother told me the story, and also that her daughter adopted a dog that was gravely sick because she wanted to give him love for whatever time he had left, I was blessed with this poem about the dog. Yes, my friends, she named him Chance. Shortly after Chance crossed over the Rainbow Bridge the young woman went to be with the Lord. I believe they are together. What do you think?
Chance
This is my story, I was lost and alone. All I wanted was to be happy and have a good home.
I wanted to be loved, to be able to play and dance. I needed someone to care and give me a chance.
Day after day, it was always the same, “Not this one, he’s too old, he looks like he’s lame.”
But then one day I was blessed as could be, my master came in and said she wanted me.
She said, “I know what it’s like when life seems so wrong, you should be with me, yes, together we belong!”
So now I am happy, I have a home and I’m free, my master named me “Chance”, for she took a chance with me.

Little things do mean a lot. Please don't let time run out on what could be. As the saying goes, "Stop and smell the roses!"

Amen ~ May 23rd, 2021
Amen is an Abrahamic declaration of affirmation first found in the Hebrew Bible, and subsequently in the New Testament. It is used in Jewish, Christian and Islamic worship, as a concluding word, or as a response to a prayer. Common English translations of the word amen include "verily", "truly", "it is true", and "let it be so". It is also used colloquially, to express strong agreement. (en.wikipedia.org)
A good song that I have shared in the God's Love Outreach is titled "All The People Said, Amen!" It is an upbeat song and I love that the writers shared some of God's awesome Word in there.
Matthew 5
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
"Give thanks to the Lord for His love never fails!"
A few years ago I put the Beatitudes In a video which I was blessed to create.
So, where are your blessings? Blessed are those poor in spirit, that mourn, that are meek, that hunger and thirst after righteous, that are merciful, that are pure in heart, that are the peacemakers, that are persecuted and when you are reviled for Jesus sake. I always love and smile when I see or read verse#8 for it states "for they shall see God!"
All I can add to that is "AMEN"!
God's love and grace to you all!
Do you hear Him? ~ May 21st, 2021
One of the early songs I shared in the nursing homes is "Jesus Calls Us". Believe me when I say prior to March 1997 I didn't hear mainly because I wasn't listening. In March of 1997 I called out to Him. Yes, He was waiting for sure. See, God knows exactly what we are doing and by our choice we do it. Good and bad, "choice". In this song the lyrics for sure speak of a surrendered heart.
I guess for sure all I can say is, “His message is perfect”. As you read through this poem I pray you agree what God is saying to each of us. For sure we are not perfect creatures but through the love of Jesus and His finished work on the Cross we are made perfect through Him! All our sins are washed “white as snow”! Praise God! thank You, Jesus!
Perfect
We are always looking for perfect
for in this world that is the cry.
But the more we look and strive for it
we do not find no matter how hard we try.
No perfect childhood, job, marriage or people,
can we find or ever will there be.
So with all that being said,
for sure there is no perfect you, or no perfect me.
So why do we have the word perfect
if no one was ever able or will be?
Well, the Bible tells us of Jesus,
not one sin from Him, perfect is what you see.
The Holy Spirit is sent to lead us,
through this imperfect and sinful life.
With unfailing strength, wisdom and love,
God makes this sinful world livable and right.
See, because of Jesus love for us,
we can only be perfect in Him alone.
This is an imperfect world we are passing through,
Heaven awaits, yes, that’s our “perfect” home!

“From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Trilogy”
My friends, many, many people pass through this world and I believe never understand what their time here was about. If you talk to different people, you may get different idea's, but for me it is the end of the race not the race itself. For sure this life is a tough race to run but it is important to keep the finish line in sight. Follow the course given by the One who created it!
"Jesus calls us to a life, free of anger free of strife. Live in "peace" with "everyone", point them to God's Holy Son!"

Where does it hurt? ~ May 20th, 2021
As a child I can always remember my mother saying to me, "show me where it hurts and I will put a bandaid on it"! Well, as I have gotten "a lot older" and from what this world puts everyone through I have found a picture that best describes it today.
Yep, this is what gets me through.
Now I also found on Facebook a test to help you see what you are or need!
Today as I was working on a song I wanted to add to the God's Love website I found this "Jesus Melody", that if I sang it as a child or even as a very old child, it covers for sure where I hurt.
In closing I think this sums it up very well for today and every day!
Well, my friends, after reading that you will find yourself in one of two categories, condemned or forgiven for not one of us is innocent. Please remember it is only through Jesus that you are forgiven. He is the Truth, the Way and the life. You will find a Solace there!
God's love and grace to you all!
Do you know me? ~ May 18th, 2021...
I always loved this song by Elvis Presley, "You Don't Know Me". When I would do programs in the nursing homes I wanted to show them in pictures who I was. I was blessed with a poem that I added to this video titled "It's Me, Lord!" and I would also share with the residents.
As I continue to post on Facebook as an outreach I do notice some people I do know and also some that are Facebook friends but have never met. Their lives unfold each day in posts. For me I do not use Facebook or any other social media to discuss my personal life. It is amazing to me how many people I don't know, do that, from what they eat to what their political views might be. Of course that their choice and I guess what social media is about.
I always want anyone who does know me, or see my postings on Facebook and other sources, to know the important thing about me is, my relationship with Jesus Christ. I believe at the end of the poem you will understand if you don't already and know who I am.
I think a good way to close this blog is with a poem titled, "My Book Of Life". It was written over 10 years ago but is still true today.
My Book Of Life
As I came to the gates of Heaven, St. Peter said, “You have to answer a question before I let you in!” I wondered of all the questions He would ask, what would it be, before my life there would begin?
Then St. Peter opened a large book, on each page was what I did on earth with pictures to see. Then He asked me this question, “If you had to do it all over, what would it be?”
As I looked at all the pictures that represented my earthly life, I saw my childhood, my mom and dad and my brothers, I saw my kids, my Grandkid's and my wife.
I saw all the smiles, all the laughter, and the fun, but I also saw all the heartache, all the crying, and the tears. I saw all the hurting either I did, or someone did to me, year after year after year.
I saw myself being very busy, trying to create a very good life. But then I also saw all the times I was away, that I didn’t spend with my kids and my wife.
Then I saw all the friends I have known, that through the years I did lose touch. Though I didn’t have many friends as some might, the ones I had, I cared for very much.
But then my eyes got brighter, what I saw was my walk with God. I knew at that very moment the answer to the question, I wouldn’t change anything, for I might lose that, if I had.
See, this life is about learning and as we do, the choices that we make, but the most important is choosing Him, for it is a life with Him in Heaven, that is at stake.
So if this poem does nothing else, than to make you stop and take a look, I pray in the pictures of your life you see God, just like I saw in my book!

Is the light shining? ~ May 16th, 2021...
I always remember a gentleman that was a Sunday School teacher at our church in the mid 1950's. He was a true man of God, soft spoken, kind to all he would meet. I believe he also taught a Bible Study. Sixty some years passed and I saw him in a nursing home. I believe his wife was in a different nursing home. Well, whenever I went to see him his Bible was on the night stand close to where he was. He told me as people would walk by or come into his room he would share God's love and grace with them. His hand were crippled with arthritis but he would manage the best he could.
Every time I hear or sing the song, "Does The Light Still Shine", he comes to mind. This song is about a missionary that was in a nursing home and anyone that came to see him he asked the same question, "Does the Light Still shine?" See, there was a Cross that was outside his building shinning for all to see and come to learn about Jesus!
Also when I hear or sing this song I think back to my life the last 24 years and counting. I hear it said God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called! Oh, how true that is. As I look back at my life I can see His will unfolding in my life. It took some years to gradually learn and grow from several Pastor's and Godly friends. Reading and studying His Word in preparation for what He wanted me to do.
This is a poem video titled "The Mission". In the beginning of the video it mentions people that many of us never heard about. Well, until it mentions Rev. Billy Graham. See, each of the men prior to Rev. Graham God used as stepping stones to the other. Now when my picture appears it just relates to being an unknown, blessed by God because of my love and obedience to Him.
I pray you were blessed by this blog and all the previous and also the many more to come, Lord willing. To God be the glory!
God's love and grace to you all!
The blessing is worth the pain! ~ May 13th, 2021...
Now there is an interesting statement. I believe no one wants or looks forward to pain. Here is a song I share with residents titled "Season's Change". In the lyrics is, "you will find the blessing is worth the pain", yep, just believe. When I think back of the few times I was in pain, thank You Lord for the few, as I think back I don't remember the pain. Oh it was real and some did last for a certain length of time but something good did come from it. Sometimes we have pain then go through the healing process and then find a stronger person from it.
I believe as a country we are now going through some "seasonal" changes. For myself I try not to get too caught up in the media and politics of it all for if I do I find all I accomplish is the loss of time. Now isn't that one of our individual commodities? Each of us has just so many "breaths" that we take in this life. So why waste them with worry? It was once stated that "worry is like a rocking chair, gives you something to do but your not going anywhere!"
Here is a video titled "7 Rules for Life". I guess you can call these the lucky 7!
I love this poem I was blessed with over 13 years ago. I pray that through your seasons very few pains there will be. My friends whatever they may be, just give them to the Lord! What a difference He will make in your lives, "if you let Him!
Life’s Seasons
Just as the leaves fall from the trees, life can change for you and me, one time happy, another time sad, very quickly you have less than you had.
One day very healthy and the next very, very sick, just like the various seasons, life can change very quick.
Friends by the numbers, then suddenly very few, part of life’s seasons, the old and the new.
So thanks to you, Jesus, being the same from the start, as life’s seasons come and go, only yours stays true in my heart.

MOM ~ May 9th, 2021...
Have you ever noticed if you take the name "MOM" and turn it upside down it is "WOW"! How true that is. Today we celebrate Mother's Day. When thinking about this I believe each day should be "Mother's Day" because from the day we are born until the day we leave this earth we are and will be a part of our mother. As the good Lord was blessing me with poetry He made sure Mom's would be included.
This poem is titled "A Mother's Arms!"
A Mother’s Arms
A mother’s arms are strong and true, to hold tight what is dear to their hearts. They hold on in a special way, with a love that will never depart.
But what is most important to them, is the children that came from within. This is just special given to them, ever since each life began.
A mother’s arms cradles us when we are babies, lifts us up to kiss when we are small. They don’t want to let go when we are bigger, because a mother’s love is that strong.
So enjoy them when they are with you, think of them often when they are gone, for remember just like Jesus with Mary, in a mother’s arms is where we all belong.
E. P. Shagott 1/15/2011
Now this poem is titled "And God Created Women". Yes, that's what Mom's are!
And God Created Women
And God created women, to be a mother and to shop. A mother for a lifetime, a shopper till they drop.
He created them to give hugs and many kisses too. He created them to spend, for that’s what women do.
God also gave them a memory, just incase that men forget. So if the men think they won’t remember, well, it hasn’t happened yet!
And the most important quality, He gave them was to endure. For He knew living with men, was no easy task for sure.
Yes, God created women, each one special in their own way, for He knew without them in the world, how would men make it through the day?
E. P. Shagott 4/22/10
So, just to make sure everyone understands this poem is titled "God Created A Mom"!
God Created “A Mom”
God gave her loving hands, to grab and hold us tight. God gave her a gentle heart, to guide and make things right.
God gave her understanding, for He knew with children she would need. God gave her endurance and patience, all needed to raise a family!
God gave her eyes to watch, and ears to hear our cries. God gave her many answers, to all our many questions and whys???
But what was most important, was His love for each and everyone, see God created “a mom”, to see the job got done!
E. P. Shagott 5/10/2010
Are you getting a feeling that God loves Mom's?
Mom’s
Moms are Moms through and through. They were chosen Moms for what they do.
They put their children before themselves, they perform their duties better than anyone else.
They nurture, they love, they teach, they care. They are Moms forever that’s why God put them here.
And when each day on this earth is done, they give praise to Father above, because He made them a Mom!
E. P. Shagott 5/8/2011
Well, for poems I wanted to share one that really touches my heart for I was blessed with this one for "my" mother. Like it states in all the other previous poems, she was a blessing from God. Did I take for granted everything she did for me? Sure. Was there times I broke her heart? Sure. Did she ever complain about being a Mom? Not that I am aware of. One thing I tell people in my testimony of my mother, when you would walk into her house you would see four things on the kitchen table. A cup of coffee, a pack of cigarettes, a crossword book, and her Bible. She was already passed on when I got to the hospital to see her.
To My Mother
My mother was a special person, who always gave from the heart. She never asked for anything even the day we had to part.
I always felt special when near her for she always heard my cry. And when I felt discouraged, I had to only look in her eyes.
She had a way of saying without me asking why life is always worth living, never give up and always try.
Besides being my mother she was also my best friend. My love for her is eternal and I pray we'll meet again.
All my love, Your son Ed
One of my Mother's favorite Bible verses was the 23rd Psalm. On the day that she passed, when I saw her in the hospital, the Bible was on her chest and her hands pointed to that scripture. It will be 30 years the 30th of this month when she went home to be with Jesus! Someday I will be with her again.
Thank You Lord for my Mom and all the Mom's out there. If not for You and them we wouldn't be here!
Revive us now! ~ May 7th, 2021...
OK, I understand that I am an old man, (young at heart), but each day as I "scan" the news, for it is too troubling to dwell on it, I say to myself, "What is going on? Lord, help us for we are going the wrong way!" Below is a picture that I have used in Patriotic programs in various nursing homes. It has a Word from God on it that as you read it, I believe, shows the answer. We have strayed so far from God's church and I am not talking about the buildings but Jesus church as He spoke of it in;
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The Rock is Jesus my friends. You are either with Him or against Him. See, there is no "in the middle!"
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
I believe they call that "an attention getter!"
Casting Crowns has one of my favorite praise songs titled, "If We Ever Need You". I also share this song in the God's Love Outreach. I love the lyrics, "Let Your church arise!" Hmm, where is Jesus church? My friends, God put this world in man's/woman's hands. In the beginning Adam and Eve gave it to the enemy, as they believed satan's lies. The Father sent Jesus to become man and give the authority back to man through His shed blood, death and resurrection.
So how can we be Jesus church? I think this poem states it very well!
We Are to be His Eyes, Ears, Hands and Feet
With my eyes I am looking for sinners, yes, people just like me. With my heart is where I keep Jesus because He first loved me.
So everyday I find one, a sinner lost and looking to be free, I tell them of my friend Jesus and what He did for me.
He took away my hurting, He filled my heart with love, He gives work for me to do for Him until that day we’re together above.
So with my ears I will listen, with my eyes I will definitely seek, with my hands I will embrace them that He brings me to, with my feet.
They being the sinners, yes, the ones just like me. All they have to do is choose, so with Him they can also be.

Jesus is my Anchor ~ May 6th,2021...
John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
For sure a good Word of God to start a blog off with. Very interesting from Jesus lips He said, "you will have problems!" Well, if anyone knew of problems for sure He did for the world was against Him. He tells us "we are to have peace", why, because He has "overcome" everything. So If we are in Him, He is in us and that means "WE" overcome everything. For sure that is the way I understand and claim it.
I have shared this song with the residents in several programs. Without a doubt, many shut-ins whose lives have changed, need and are looking for an anchor. The Anchor Holds by Ray Boltz states it so well. Yes, I have fallen on my knees as I faced the raging seas, the Anchor holds in spite of the storm!!!
Life’s Storms
I walked out of my house today, there was a dark cloud in the sky. I said, “Lord, should I run for cover?” He answered back, ”Why?”
I said, “What if the storm is greater than I can bear?” He said, “Child of Mine, why would you have to fear?
Remember when I was with my disciples and the storm came up at will? They also had nothing to fear, for I told the storm, Peace, be still!
So always remember, My child, storms will come and storms will go, you will always be protected from them, because I love you so.”

So I think the best way to close this blog is to let everyone know, Jesus is our Anchor, He is our Key!
God's love and blessings to you all!
Jesus loves me, this I know! ~ May 5th, 2021
There is a modern day praise song the I sing in the God's Love Outreach ministry titled, "Jesus Loves Me". When I sing it my heart is just overjoyed and flowing with love for Him. Listen and see if you agree.
Yes for sure I do love Him and love to share that (feed His sheep) with everyone. This is a poem that I was blessed several years ago titled, "Pictures of Jesus" that I made into a video. I pray you will be blessed by it and can fully understand the last line when it states, "For when you see Jesus you will also see me!"
I want to close this blog with a senior's version of Jesus Loves Me. I do not know who wrote but it is very good and very true. I think we all or most remember the chorus,
"Yes, Jesus loves me, yes, Jesus loves me, yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so!
God's love and blessings to you all!
Just my temporary home! ~ May 3rd, 2021
I met a gentleman on Facebook named Chuck Bassett. As I read so many of his writings what stood out was "a man of God". I once inquired if I could share some of his writings and his response was the same I always give when asked that question, "It is not mine but God's!" Chuck was called home September 2019 at the age of 66. I want to share one of his postings with you all. As you read, you can hear Chuck's heart pour out through his writing. Well, really it is the Holy Spirit flowing from Chuck.
HOMESICK
📖 But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body. ~ Philippians 3:20-21
Squire Parsons penned these lyrics to his classic Christian song “Beulah Land”: “I'm kind of homesick for a country / To which I've never been before.” The worldly logician will complain, “How can you be homesick for a place you’ve never been?” Of course, when it comes to the things of God, we should expect many things to befuddle worldly thinking (1 Corinthians 2:14).
When born-again, one immediately changes citizenship, as our text says. The transformation is one that only God can engineer. When Paul says we are new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), he means just that. God began a new line of creation in Christ, one that is neither Jew or Gentile, neither male nor female (Galatians 3:28), regarding our Heavenly status here on earth. Our new passport has been stamped, with our home of origin changed from “earth” to “Heaven.” In this foreign land, this fallen world, we all have ambassador status (2 Corinthians 5:20), and as ambassadors do, we are careful with our words and actions, knowing that everything we say or do reflects our King, Jesus Christ, and His kingdom. We may not yet have been to our Heaven, but Heaven is in our souls via Holy Spirit.
Where do your affections lie, dear Christian? Are you so enmeshed with this transitory world, that you rarely meditate on what your eternal King would have you be, say, and do? He has issued you a Manifesto, the Bible, full of commands and promises. Have His word and Spirit become so much a part of your essence, that they have dramatically changed your deportment so that you are more like Christ? If you do not feel like an alien and stranger in this world (1 Peter 2:11, NASB), your affections are misplaced. Our Heaven-going should feel like a Homecoming. ~ Chuck Bassett
After reading this a song that comes to mind is "Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood. I have shared it many times with residents blessing them letting them know as believers we are just strangers in this land and our true destiny is with Jesus in Heaven. At the end of this song if you listen carefully you will hear where I am brought to tears with the lyrics, "I can see God's face!"! My friends, that is what it is all about!
He Is Always There
I reached my hand out to Him,
I felt Him grasp my heart,
His love grew even stronger,
than when my walk with Him did start.
I cried out “Thank You, Lord Jesus”,
for He always hears my call.
He is always there for me,
if I stumble or even when I fall.
He loved me before I knew Him,
He is there day by day.
I cannot live without Him
for there is no other way.
And what is truly amazing
is if I feel like this today,
I can’t begin to imagine how it will be,
when Jesus and I will be together some sweet day!

Well, one day, my friends I will meet Chuck Bassett in person. I will thank him again for his wonderful writings and how they touched my heart and the hearts of many more. Together Chuck and I will be with Jesus just as it is written in scriptures for believers. I pray you all will also "choose" as we did!
God's love and blessings!
It is all His! ~ May 2nd, 2021
I was working on the video titled, "Holy Ground", and what came to mind is, everything we see, touch, hear, smell is all His. Either you believe it or you don't. He is the Creator we are His creations. I believe where the problem comes in for so many is they see it the other way. Instead of looking to where we fit into His plans we fit Him into ours when we feel a need for Him. Well for me the need is constant. Yes, with each breath that He gives me. My friends, our minds just can't comprehend that.
I once heard a story about a couple scientists that told God they didn't need Him anymore. Hmm, sounds like today's times. They finally could create life. So God smiled and said, "Show Me!" The scientists took some dirt and molded it into a human figure. They added all what was needed and it came to life! God said, "Very good, now do that with your dirt!!!"
This is the song titled "Holy Ground".
Genesis 13:14-16
14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
The Master And The Servant
The Master called in His servant
and said, “What will you do for me?”
The servant said in reply,
“Whatever You ask, whatever it can be.”
The Master smiled with His approval,
and reached out His hand in love.
The servant fell to his knees,
and obediently looked at His Master above.
The Master said, “What I have is yours,
please come share all this with Me.”
The servant said, “I don’t understand,
Master, please explain, what could it be?”
The Master said, “I love you,
and have ever since the start!”
The servant said, “I don’t have anything for You,
Master, all I have to give is just my heart.”
The Master smiled again, then said,
“That is the greatest gift one can give.
I gave Mine for you a long time ago,
see, it is the only way for us truly to live!”

I pray that for all eyes that the Lord brings to this Heart blog that you understand how much God does love you. In closing I want to share another song that like the one above I have presented to residents to remind them, each one is loved and not forgotten. God knows each of us even before we were formed in our mother's womb.
God's love and blessings to you all!
