Published Book #3.jpg

After almost thirty years, it seems that the poetry part of God's journey for me might be coming to a close. This is my third book of His published poems. I do realize that I am just the loyal and loving servant that He chose to be one of His penman's. The previous other two books, "From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours" and "More, From God's Heart, to Mine, to Yours" have been well received and I have heard nothing but good and blessed comments about them, as I am sure with this one I will also.

Besides being blessed to publish God's poems, I am also blessed to present musical PowerPoint presentations to shut-ins. How awesome it is to be able to reach out with God's Love and touch another soul in need. This part of the His journey for me will continue until He says, "Rest".

From God’s Heart, to Mine, to Yours, Trilogy
Book #3 by E. P. Shagott
Narrated by Jamal west

Here are some poems and insight from Book #3

I guess for sure all I can say is, “His message is perfect”.  As you read through this poem I pray you agree what God is saying to each of us.  For sure we are not perfect creatures but through the love of Jesus and His finished work on the Cross we are made perfect through Him!  All our sins are washed “white as snow”! Praise God! thank You, Jesus!

Perfect

We are always looking for perfect
for in this world that is the cry.
But the more we look and strive for it
we do not find no matter how hard we try.

No perfect childhood, job, marriage or people,
can we find or ever will there be.
So with all that being said,
for sure there is no perfect you, or no perfect me.

So why do we have the word perfect
if no one was ever able or will be?
Well, the Bible tells us of Jesus,
not one sin from Him, perfect is what you see.

The Holy Spirit is sent to lead us,
through this imperfect and sinful life.
With unfailing strength, wisdom and love,
God makes this sinful world livable and right.

See, because of Jesus love for us,
we can only be perfect in Him alone.
This is an imperfect world we are passing through,
Heaven awaits, yes, that’s our “perfect” home!

For sure I do understand this message for I have always had dogs in my life.  The amazing thing is the unconditional love that a dog does give without asking anything in return.  They truly are God given for us to learn from.

Life Is Better With A Dog

Life is better with a dog,
though they are work and that is true.
But they have a way of grabbing your heart,
maybe that is why God gives them, to me and you.

A short time they are with us
but God’s timing is always right.
See, our furry friends help us get through the days
and yes, even through the nights.

What I find most important
is their unconditional love that they give.
It seems they are more concerned for us
than how they are able to live.

So, I pray this poem will be special to you,
for I know “life is better with a dog”,
for “In my darkest hour I reached for a hand
and found a paw!

For me this is another “WOW” poem.  In this life there is so much that I do not understand, even as I am now a happy senior. One thing that stood out in this poem is that God does not see differences in us.  He only sees the choice we each get to make.  A very important choice!

I Cannot Understand

I cannot understand how some are so blessed
and others just struggle to live.
I cannot understand how life can be so cruel
to the have nots, but to the others it constantly gives.

So I bowed my head in prayer
and to God, the Father, the answer I did seek.
I said, “Father, I cannot understand
why there are rich and poor, healthy and weak!”

Well, I sat in silence and reverence,
waiting for the answer from above.
Then very quickly the Father spoke to my heart.
He said, “I see no difference but only love!”

Then He said, “To understand love,
back to the Garden of Eden you must go.
Before man’s fall he had everything,
he never needed anything for he loved Me so.

But because of his disobedience and sin
caused by listening to satan’s lies,
he had to fend for himself
see, that’s where the problem now lies.

But also keep in mind about this life
and really how short it will be.
Because of the sacrifice Jesus did make for you,
if you believe, then you will come back to Me!

Back to where there is no hurting,
no differences will you ever see.
Yes, a Garden of Eden once again,
living all together, “in love”, My children and Me!”

The message in this poem to me stands out, “God is God!”  See He always has a plan. What He says will and does happen.  My friends as it is written in His word, He is coming back.

Any Day Or Night

After the fall of man,
an angel asked God, “What are You going to do?
Your beloved creatures have chosen sin,
Lord, why? Do they not love You?”

God smiled and said,
“Oh, I have already figured that out.
I am going to become a man
and show them what life is all about!”

See, the evil one knows
that sin will keep them from Me.
So I will prove one can live without sin,
but first they must love and believe in Me.

Many men will want to be God,
they will try everything, that is their plan.
But I will prove there is only One,
for I am God and I will become man!

See, sin will harden their hearts
and blind their eyes will be.
Though they will nail Me to a Cross,
it is the only way they can truly be free.

For it is written in My Word,
My resurrection did prove Me right.
“I will return for My Kingdom
it could be soon, any day or night!”

For sure I can speak from knowledge for this poem.  I think it does describe the aging process well. the true message of the poem I believe is at the end for it is true there are a lot of people that have not or will not get to the aging process.

Aging

Smooth has become wrinkled,
our lungs sometimes struggle for air.
What once a life we bragged about
now we may think and say is unfair.

Handsome and beautiful
are words now for others not us.
The ability to move quickly and easy
is now a chore and with great fuss.

Our smiles have turned to frowns,
hearing is lost and eyesight dimmed too.
My friends it is no fun getting older
but that is life for me and you.

But please keep this in mind
as us older ones go about our day.
Some will not be as blessed as we are
for aging will not come their way.

A sad message but a true one I believe. A message not for those that don’t believe but also for those that go through the motions but deep down still don’t understand. the ray of sunshine through all of this is it is never too late. If sincere ask God today to help you to truly believe.

A Sad Day For Some

A sad day for some is coming

for judgement day will soon be here.

Because they did not truly believe

they will be standing in doubt and fear.

They will be standing in front of their Creator,

their life’s book will be in His hand.

I believe Jesus will then say,

“You heard the Gospel Message,

what didn’t you understand?

You came to church on Sunday’s,

you sang hymns and said prayers too.

But your worship and love for Me

in your heart you never knew.”

See, in the Bible it is written, in Matthew 7:23,

“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:

depart from me, ye that work iniquity!”

Yes, this will be said when this life is through.

Well, my friends, when this life over,

most think judgement day will not come.

I believe for even those sitting in pews,

it will be a sad day for some.

I remember when I was inspired with this poem. I was singing the song, “Send in the Clowns” and I thought, that is what is missing in today’s times. What happen to all the fun when it just felt good to laugh. Yep, something is missing for sure.

A Few Missing Ingredients

As we look at the world today

it appears something is missing.

Not many smiles and laughter

yes, a few missing ingredients.

Good clean healthy humor

seems just a thing of the past.

In times of today you really need

a good ole belly laugh.

So what is the difference

what have we let slip on by.

I can still remember when

I laughed so hard I cried.

I wish we could go back

and turn this life around,

bring laughter back into our lives again,

yep, please, send in the clowns!

I do love this poem for how true it is today. Being a senior gentleman I know what it was like prior to when technology took over everyday life. I can remember when as a child your mind was your activity. The outside was your adventure.

People Beware

People beware

is what I say,

open your eyes to what

is happening today.

Technology is slowly

taking from you

a life that is worth living

that we once knew.

It is taking our creativity

and is poisoning our minds.

We are flooded with advertisement

to get our hard-earned money, we find.

When we search the Internet

for information to know,

we end up getting cookies,

not the ones made from dough.

When we watch our favorite programs

less entertainment we do see

but more and more advertisements

is there for you and me.

So, people beware

before it’s too late

for given the opportunity

our minds technology will take!

The message in this poem stands out “loud and clear” especially in todays times. In the Bible the word REPENT means to change. Turn away from a wrongful life that you lead. In Matthew 3 John the Baptist was sent by God, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Then in Matthew 4 Jesus when He started preaching stated the same; 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Well, my friends, I will also say, “Repent (change) for time is getting close!”

Change

It is easy to say you are sorry

than to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Change is hard for anyone

but it is better than where you have been.

Wrong will get you no where

though people live like it is right.

Eventually if we don’t change

we start believing and wrong becomes our sight.

Oh, it may appear people are happy

living a wrongful, sinful life.

But one day it will catch up to them,

to late to change and make things right.

To late to take all the hurt and anger

back and make it go away.

Please, change from the wrongful living

you can do it, start today!”
