Publisher's Insight!
With my 6th book, "From God's Heart, Are We Listening", published by Palmetto Publishing, a social media campaign is introducing, by topic, a few of the poems also found throughout my other 5 books from the, "From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours", series. As I read each, of what the publisher commented I thought, "yes, that is what the poetic message is about!" If you would like to hear the poem narrated click on the poem's name and it will open a video with it. You can select a poem from the menu on the left or scroll down to view each poem.
The Mission

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #1, Page #72)
I was called by the Almighty,
for He had a mission for me.
He said, “I need for you to touch the hearts
of the many people that still can’t see.
I want you to share My love,
and reassure them My Word is true.
Tell them in whatever way you can,
in the best way that you can do.
Tell them through My poems,
show them through your love,
sing to them in hymns and songs,
that I am in control from above.
Tell them they don’t have to worry,
for with Me there is nothing to hide.
Tell them time is getting short,
the great I Am is waiting for them to decide!”

Your Choice

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #1, Page #74)
Which way are you going today?
Will you make a turn or will you go straight?
Life is filled with questions,
it is all up to us the choice we make.
Will you try to help someone else today,
or will you just look out for yourself?
Will you pursue the purpose God has for you,
or just keep running all in doubt?
Will you stop and look at all the blessings,
into your life you do receive?
Or will you think you did it all yourself,
is this what you truly believe?
Well, whatever you choose it is up to you,
but remember there are consequences at stake.
See, it is not about this life but the next,
and the choices through life we make.
For me, I choose to follow Christ,
to Him my life I did freely give.
He is making the decisions for me,
yep, that’s my choice how to live!
E. P.Shagott
More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #44)
The choice is up to you,
just how you spend your time.
You can choose to live in sin,
fooling yourself everything is just fine.
You can choose to ignore
those less fortunate than you.
You can choose to believe
it’s all about you, but that’s not true.
The choice is definitely yours,
because God made it so.
But you better choose wisely,
before it’s time to go.
God will always be waiting
and watching just what you do.
He has already made His choice,
now the choice is up to you.

You Might Only Have Today

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #96)
You might only have today for,
yesterday is gone, praise God
that you were given.
Tomorrow isn’t promised so,
it is about today that you are living.
Whatever we did yesterday
is finished and cannot be undone.
You only have today so,
make it count and be
a blessing to someone.
Oh, you may have plans for tomorrow,
if by grace you do receive,
so put all your energy into today,
for that is all you can control, believe!
You might only have today, my friends,
it might be the last day that you do!
Just think, it might be the reason,
why God decided to give it to you!
So, what if tomorrow didn’t come?
Well, for all, this is what I pray,
you all will accept God’s love and grace,
if you haven’t,
you might only have today!

Legacy

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #80)
It is in this life that,
your legacy will be defined.
It will be about your character,
not what you left behind.
For a legacy is something that,
proves the reason for a life given.
Each life a blessing from
our Creator up in Heaven.
Please be careful my friends for,
this world will quickly change what you be.
It will tell you to grab all you can,
then shout, “it’s all about me”!!!
Well, if that is what you believe,
that choice is totally up to you.
See, one day I believe we will all,
answer for what we in this life did do!

Jesus Has My Back

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours,
(Book #1, Page #163)
My body is being attacked,
no peace can I find.
Even in my solitude,
the enemy invades my mind.
Where can I find relief?
Which way do I turn?
Where will my help come from?
What is it I must learn?
Then I opened my Bible,
Psalm 121, I started to read.
“My help comes from the Lord”,
is what it said to me.
No matter what is against me.
No matter how severe the attack.
What I read from the Bible is
“Jesus has my back!!!!”

If You See Me

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #120)
If you see me on Facebook,
or if you are reading one of His poems,
what you are seeing is actually Him,
not me, but Him alone.
If you see me doing a God’s Love Program,
singing to His wounded in a home,
what you are seeing is actually Him,
yes, Him alone.
See, I am just being obedient
as I reach out to others on Facebook.
I am just the one, who writes down His poems,
and then puts them in a book.
I am just sharing His love,
to all the shut-ins that I meet,
so, you are actually seeing Him,
when you think you are seeing me.
So, who is that someone sees,
when they are looking at you?
Is it someone just being themselves,
or is Christ shining through?

He Is The Light

More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #23)
“There is light at the end of the tunnel”,
is a saying I heard someone say.
But did you ever walk in darkness
with no light to show the way?
Each step is always uncertain
for you don’t know what lies ahead.
Oh, for just a little light to shine,
to remove this fear and dread.
Then all of a sudden a voice
spoke clearly to my heart.
“Do not be afraid, child of Mine
for with Me there is no dark!
The light is always there,
for with your heart to see.
The darkness is from your mind,
the light is from your heart, that is truly Me!”

Grieve And Believe

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Heaven
(Book #4, Page #124)
When your heart is broken,
and you don’t know what to do,
grieve and believe,
that God will see you through.
When tears keep flowing,
and you cry to the Father above,
grieve and believe,
they will cease all because of His love.
When your pain increases
and words fail to ease the doubt,
grieve and believe,
that God is the way out.
Give Him your heart,
that is broken in two,
and always believe,
He is grieving with you!

God's Timing

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours,
(Book #1, Page #73)
God’s timing is so awesome,
though sometimes we just don’t see,
He is always working in our lives,
guiding us in what’s good for you and me.
It seems we only see Him working,
when so much trouble comes our way,
but God is still working in the good days,
to make sure life always stays that way.
But we are an anxious people,
we want everything now for we can’t wait.
We always fail to remember,
God’s always on time and never late.
His timing is not our timing,
His ways are always right.
Please remember to thank Him,
before you go to sleep tonight.

God's Measuring Stick

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours,
(Book #1, Page #68)
God called me to His throne of Grace,
and said, “Let’s see if you measure up!”
An angel brought His measuring stick,
the Fruits of the Spirit marked bottom to top.
So as I stood next to His measuring stick,
I passed the love, joy and peace.
He smiled and then said, “Child of Mine,
these are so very important to Me.”
Next came long-suffering, then
kindness, goodness and faith.
I also passed each one of those,
God nodded His approval but then said, “Wait.”
I saw you were arguing with
a Brother and Sister from church.
You didn’t appear to be in control,
you appeared angry and very hurt.
With down cast eyes I said,
“Forgive me Father, for it is true,
the reason that it happened
was I took my eyes off of You!

God Is Talking To You Today

More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #103)
God is talking to you today,
He has something important for you to hear,
He wants you to know He loves you,
and that with Him there is nothing to fear.
Listen to Him carefully today,
remove all distractions from your heart,
read from His Holy Scriptures today,
for when you do, you draw nearer, not apart.
God is talking to you today,
He could be doing this by a stranger or a friend.
What He is speaking through them,
is meant just for you, as this day you do begin.
So please listen very carefully,
to each message that He sends your way.
Give Him praise because He loves you so,
that He took His time to talk to you today!

Forever Wounded

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Heaven
(Book #4, Page #86)
For every soldier that has ever been
fighting for their country to be free,
the price you paid was the very best,
for “Forever Wounded” you will always be.
To give of oneself because it was right
is the ultimate sacrifice you see.
To follow orders going into battle,
knowing the loss of your life there could be.
Thank you, doesn’t seem good enough,
it seems lacking to some degree.
It is hard for me to understand
you were “Forever Wounded” for me.
So I pray this poem can touch the hearts
of every soldier that they may see,
it was written in sincere gratitude,
for being a soldier and what you did for me.

God Did Not Leave Us Alone

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours,
(Book #1, Page #66)
As we look out our darken windows,
we see the sunshine on our neighbor’s home.
Our house is filled with misery,
but our God did not leave us alone.
As we looked for ways to make ends meet,
and see so many over flowing pockets shown,
oh where will our next meal come from?
But our God did not leave us alone.
As we see the many healthy people,
yet our bodies ache and groan,
we cannot go from here to there,
but our God did not leave us alone.
See it doesn’t matter what we are going through,
but with the Lord how much we have grown.
It is not about what others have and we don’t,
but that our God did not leave us alone.

Fight On

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours,
(Book #1, Page #147)
Our daily battles are many,
the enemy, at times, seems too great.
Then God shouts down from heaven,
“Fight on, for it is never too late.”
Whatever the battle you are fighting
and in this life many there will be,
Fight on Christian Soldiers,
for the victory in Jesus you will see.
Don’t listen to the enemy
tell you that you cannot win,
pick up your Bible and read,
for in Revelation, it states we win!
God’s Word will not change,
so that means it is up to us,
Fight on, fight on, Children of God,
for the victory is in the Cross!!!

Don't Give Up

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #23)
There once was a rabbit
down in the valley he be.
As he looked around
all was mountains he would see.
Each day in the valley
it was dark as could be.
He prayed that one day sunshine
from the mountain top he could see.
All his friends laughed when
he told them that it would come true.
They all said, “Hey buddy,
there is something wrong with you!”
See, rabbits don’t climb mountains,
in valleys dark, they just hop around.
But in this story one day this rabbit,
who “always prayed”, could not be found.
See, what happened was one day,
from the mountain top an eagle flew down.
He saw the rabbit down in the valley
praying while sitting on the ground.
The eagle scooped him up
and to the mountain top they did go.
He gently set him down, then flew away.
Why? Hmm, only God did know.
So, the moral of this poem is,
God listens to all and everyone’s prayers.
When you are searching for answers
“Don’t give up”, for the answer is almost there!

A Battle

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #30)
Ever since God created life,
yes, Him, no big bang theory you see.
There was always a battle
between the heart and mind, in you and me.
The mind tells the heart believe me
for this is what the eyes did see.
The heart cries no, don’t listen soul
for it is not what God wanted it to be.
Then the mind laughed and said,
“But the ears also heard it so must be true.”
The heart just felt discouraged
and asked the soul, “What are we ever going to do?”
The soul then said, “We need an answer,
to decide from what’s right and wrong.
Let’s ask the Holy Spirit for it’s His job
to tell us the truth and guide us along.”
So, in my heart I felt the Holy Spirits wisdom,
“The answer is always in God’s Word!
Tell the eyes to go read and ears to listen too,
the answer there to be seen and heard.”
So, the moral of this poem,
when your mind and heart do not agree,
go back to the beginning
and through God’s Word you will see and believe!

God's Loving Hands

More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #185)
The sunshine lifts me up.
The rain softens my fall.
The storms in my life,
makes me seek You more.
The light covers darkness.
The warmth hides the cold.
Love conquered emptiness
changing this heart of stone.
Smiles covered frowns.
Laughter ceased the tears.
Singing lets my soul speak
as I live out the years.
So as you read this poem
I pray you understand,
everything listed in it
comes from God's loving hands.

Dancing Shoes

From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Trilogy
(Book #3, Page #110)
Age for some may not happen
for they leave this world too soon.
For others they are looking for answers,
maybe it is “put on your dancing shoes!”
For sure as we get older
our bodies don’t move the same.
But when life’s music is playing,
to not dance to it is a shame.
See, I believe life is about feeling
and how you show it, is up to you.
You could just sit around doing nothing
or you could “put on your dancing shoes”!
Oh, the moves may have changed
from when you were young
but it is not about your dancing ability
but as we go through life having fun.
So, take advantage of each moment,
dance to the music life brings.
Hey, if you don’t have any dancing shoes,
well, then just stand there and sing!!!

We Can Start Again
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #22)
It is hard to go back
for that is in the past.
Once morals and good manners are lost,
if not worked at, for sure they will not last.
See, many, many years ago
God’s commandments He did share.
Probably knowing we wouldn’t listen,
He only gave us “10” to make us aware.
These “10” were just the beginning
for living a successful life.
He knew we had to follow rules
to live daily, without worry and strife.
But like throughout history
many would not listen or even care.
So little by little people did it their way,
when problems came, they said, “It’s not fair!”
Yep, it seems like the good days are behind us,
but please don’t give up and lose heart my friends,
all it takes is believing in God’s direction
believe in Him and we can start again!

Use Me, Lord
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Heaven
(Book #2, Page #112)
Here I am, Lord,
ready to do Your will.
Use me, Lord, use me,
quietly, patiently, I am waiting till.
Use my feet to take me
to where Your service will be.
Use my hands, Lord,
reaching out to those in need.
Use my eyes, Lord,
let them search through Your Word.
Use my ears, Lord,
to listen carefully so You can be heard.
Use my mouth, Lord,
that from it Your Spirit can speak.
Use my heart, Lord,
because of You is why it beats.
Use me, Lord, use me,
each day that on this earth I may live.
Use me, Lord, use me,
for my life to You I give.

Little Things
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Heaven
(Book #4, Page #3)
It is the little things in life
that can make or break your day.
Maybe a smile from a stranger or friend
as you go about your way.
It could be something little
like no more toothpaste in the tube,
that will cause you frustration
and through your day adds to what bugs you.
Maybe too it could be
a kind jester that comes your way.
Like someone being courteous to you
which seems less and less these days.
Yes, it is the little things in life,
either the good or the bad,
that can make for the best
or the worse day that you had.
But please keep this in mind
if little things bring happiness or strife.
When we group them all together
it is what they call “life”!
E. P. Shagott
I Am Listening
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #38)
I am listening, even though
with my ears I can barely hear.
See, God always speaks to my heart,
hmm, just like a second set of ears.
I am quiet and focus on each Word,
that from the Holy Spirit, He does speak.
One reason why I hear Him so is,
each day first the Kingdom of God I do seek.
His Words never mislead me,
they guide me strongly on the path to take.
They are a light that shines in this darkened world,
darkened by so much selfishness, greed and hate.
So, if you are lost seeking help and guidance,
cry out to God for the answers you’re needing.
Then just be still, quiet and wait,
when He answers say thank You, yes, I am listening!
E. P. Shagott
God's Task
More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #73)
God spoke to my heart,
He said, “I have a task for you.
All you have to be is obedient,
and trust I will get you through.
I have everything you will need
to accomplish what needs to be done.
Just listen to My Spirit
and always give praise to My Son.
Never get discouraged
or even stop to question why.
You were picked special for the task,
so don’t quit before giving it a try.
I know you can do it,
for you are my special one.
Someday you will understand why,
when we meet and I say, “Well done!”
E. P. Shagott
God Is Speaking
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, "Message Delivered"
(Book #5, Page #26)
Today I am sitting writing poems
for reasons I do not know,
I sit by my computer
and His poems start to flow.
Most have a message
that He has just for you.
See it is important that we listen
for He is telling us what to do.
God only wants what’s good for us,
His ways are always the best.
Sometimes we are not happy with them,
but if we listen, for us it is just a test.
So, the moral of this poem,
Is to make you all aware,
God is speaking to you,
are you listening? He’s always there!
E. P. Shagott
God's Beauty
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours, Trilogy
(Book #3, Page #122)
As I sat outside this morning
what did I see?
All God’s beauty
that He created for me.
I saw a morning dove
descend for a tree.
I saw a butterfly
no longer a caterpillar he be.
As I was cutting the grass
a toad hopped ahead of me.
God spoke to my heart and said,
I created him too, just let him be.
So the moral of this poem
is just for all to see,
if you take time to look around
it’s all God’s beauty, for you and for me.

Salvation
More, From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #2, Page #1)
The title of this poem is salvation,
a word that says it all.
For within it's nine letters you will find
life's answers since the fall.
Love, hope, praise, and honor
contentment, peace is there.
These are also some of the words
that we seek when asking in prayer.
Each one of us must seek salvation out,
for surely sin is not the way.
And through Jesus Christ, the Son
our God cares for us today.
Humiliated, despised and riddled with shame,
yes, these words are in there too.
His Son was nailed to the cross
so salvation could be there, for me and you.
So please, don't take this word lightly
and pray that all might find,
that because of the price He paid for us,
not one has to stay behind.
E. P. Shagott
God's Gift
From God's Heart, To Mine, To Yours
(Book #1, Page #21)
Think of all the wonderful gifts
that you have already received.
How can anyone of them compare
to God’s gift, once you first believed?
It will never be out dated,
nor decay as the years pass by.
The gift of salvation is for you and me,
just because of God’s love, we didn’t even have to try.
A gift to last forever,
just because we are His.
A gift that was paid in full,
oh what a special gift it is!
So remember to say “thank You”,
every morning, noon, and night.
The only person to give a gift like this
is Jesus, because He definitely has the right!
